Faema

World famous Faema began producing coffee machines in 1945 in Italy. The brand has grown from strength-to-strength and is practically a household name. During the sixties era, Faema revolutionized the coffee equipment industry with the introduction of the E61. This machine had two class-leading innovations. A pressure delivery system and pre-infusion.

The E61 was at the time, the first coffee machine to use a volumetric pump to force pressurized water unto the ground coffee. Pressurized to 9 atmospheres, the E61 was capable of producing espresso without using the traditional lever mechanism. The E61 also utilized the pre-infusion process by moisturizing the ground coffee briefly, before delivering pressurized water. This method allows for maximum extraction of the aromatic compounds from the coffee.

Since the 1960s Faema has continued to innovate. They developed the E66 Diplomatic machine boasting 7 programs modes; 6 for dosed delivery and one for continuous delivery. This was followed by the Faematronic, the first traditional coffee machine using an electronic dosage and display unit to control operating parameters. In 1991 Faema brought the E91 to market. The machine and its auto-diagnostic system were a commercial success. The X3 line represents the finest in automatic coffee machine technology. Its Smart Bolier system allows for brew-temperature hot water or steam. Faema also launched the barcode line of compact Superautomatic coffee machines. These units allow the owner to create a rich, detailed user-friendly menu for customers. The Barcode series is also equipped with a refrigerated unit to provide cold milk for steaming and frothing.
